Happy New Year!

I think writing a blog in the first year of Reid's life was probably overly ambitious on my part considering that I have NO time to sit and write anything. Well, at the end of the day I do, but who wants to do that when you can snuggle with your hubby?!

We had an amazing Christmas with our families. So blessed. Reid was super spoiled, of course. He got so many fun toys and he loves them all. We had our first trip to Missouri where he got to meet his Hanks family for the first time. Everyone fell in love with him and it was so much fun to just sit back and watch him take it all in. He did great (for the most part) in the car on the way. We travelled a lot at night after his bedtime which was SO helpful! We rang in the new year with my parents and brother and sister-in-law and our best friend Cain. We actually stayed up until midnight which we pretty much regreted for the whole week after! I cried at midnight realizing that the end of 2010 meant the end of the year that I became Reid's mommy. I had to go in before midnight and steal the last few kisses of 2010 from my sleeping boy.

But with 2011 comes a fresh start. Jes and I are so excited to see where God will take us this year. Looking back on 2010...whew! We had no idea this time last year that we would have such a crazy year. Out of it came some of the greatest blessings and lessons of my life and so I welcome whatever God has in store for us in 2011. We have some specific prayer focuses for this year and believe that God will move mountains if need be!

Reid is six months old and doing amazingly well. He is just so big and doing new things every day. Here is what's going on with Reid NOW:

1. Still sleeping through the night. Goes to bed at 6:30 and sleeps until 6:00am.

2. Eating a whole bowl of cereal before bedtime bottle and LOVES it! It is so fun to watch him learn to use a spoon!!

3. Eating 7-8 ounces every 3-4 hours.

4. Takes AT LEAST two 2-3 hour naps a day with some 30-45 minutes naps here and there.

5. Rolling over back to front, but hates it when he gets on his belly!!

6. Trying to sit up on his own. You can tell that there's so much that he WANTS to do and it frustrates him!

7. Smiles and laughs ALL THE TIME. He saves the best giggles for mommy and daddy.

8. Starting to stay in the nursery at church.

9. LOVES his exersaucer. He seems to favor the color blue because he gravitates toward the blue toys. (which is mommy's favorite color, too)

10. Still loves to sing and listen to music.

11. Starting to say the "b" sound and watches everyones's mouths very carefully like he's trying to figure out how to make other sounds.

This is such a fun stage. I am loving every minute and trying to soak it all up. Time is going by too fast!
